The call to establish an Early Childhood Education centre in the Pickering area was long felt in the community with many young families desiring to give quality education to their children right from the very beginning.
At Pickering Islamic Centre we are committed to providing our children a head start by assisting them at an early age to develop a strong Muslim-Canadian identity. This will pave the way for them to serve humanity and encompass positive leadership roles in Canadian Society.
We strive to nurture tomorrow’s Muslim leaders today, Insha’Allah. The Pickering Islamic Centre launched its ECE program in Sept 2010 for 23 JK and SK students under the guidance of Shaikh Hasan. The goal was to instill value-based academic education to get the best potential out of a child.
We offer specialized courses in Qur’anic Studies, Islamic Studies and Arabic Language with an emphasis on character building and moral education through upholding Islamic and Canadian values. Our upgraded facilities, dedicated and certified teaching staff, and Islamic environment has enabled students to achieve academic excellence.
We pride ourselves, Alhamdulillah, with our unique and exceptional Arabic Language Program. We envision by the time your child completes Primary school, she/he will have a strong command of conversational Arabic.
Our ECE program follows Durham District School Board’s (DDSB) curriculum with a blend of Islamic studies as the guiding light. Our first year’s results exceeded the expectations of parents and they were quite pleased with the development of their child’s growth in knowledge, skills and capabilities along with the Islamic core values like discipline, compassion and consideration.
We are committed to ensure that the above objectives are met. We are constantly striving to improve as we plan to expand our Islamic School in the upcoming years.
